A Language-Across-the-Curriculum Approach

A Language-Across-the-Curriculum approach integrates language learning with content learning. It aims to enhance students’ English language proficiency and understanding of content subjects in English. (EDB)

The implementation

To implement such an approach effectively, our English teachers, content subject teachers and the Language Support Team from EDB have been working in close collaboration with clearly defined and supportive roles. Having identified possible areas of collaboration and development, we decide on a focus and map out knowledge and skills across language and non-language Key Learning Areas. We work together to develop relevant teaching materials in order to reinforce and enrich students’ learning experiences across different Key Learning Areas.
